The battle was fought between the Mughal Empire, led by Babur, and the forces of Ibrahim Lodi, the last ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. Babur, a descendant of Timur and Genghis Khan, sought to establish his rule in India, and the battle was a crucial step in achieving this goal. Babur's army consisted of a mix of Central Asian cavalry, artillery, and infantry, while Ibrahim Lodi's forces were primarily composed of traditional Afghan and Indian troops.
